State, Clinton COVID case update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Wednesday reported 2,791 new cases of COVID-19, an increase of nearly 200 from its Tuesday report.

The state reported 1,705 residents hospitalized, a decrease of 109 from Tuesday, marking a string of better than two weeks with fewer hospitalizations each report. Those in intensive care units numbered 296, down 22 from the previous report.

Clinton County reported 12 new cases for a total of 8,943. Centre County added 36 cases for a total of 34,611 and Lycoming County listed 20 new cases for a total of 28,146.

The state added in 213 new deaths, representing the total over the last several days, previously unreported. The Clinton County figure remained at 123.
