State COVID case update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Wednesday reported 7,305 new cases, the largest increase in the last three days.

The state reported 4,317 residents hospitalized, a decrease of 250 from Tuesday and the smallest amount since Dec. 8. 712 state residents were reported in intensive care units, down 54 from the previous day.

Clinton County reported 42 new cases for a total of 8,577, the second day in a row the case number has increased. In Centre County 107 new cases were recorded for a total of 33,516. Lycoming County added 112 new cases for a total of 27,121.

The death count in Clinton County remained at 117 while 102 new deaths were reported statewide.
