Two Bellefonte men arrested in hotel armed robbery
BENNER TOWNSHIP, PA – Two Bellefonte men were arrested over the past weekend and charged with a Jan. 8 armed robbery in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge at 3482 Benner Pike.
Tre Estes-Stalnos, 21, and Skylar Brown, 20, are in the Centre County Correctional Facility, denied bail after their Saturday arraignment before Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker.
Rockview state police said their investigation determined the two accused were involved in the robbery. They said the victim, a 48-year-old State College man, arrived at the hotel close to midnight on Jan. 8 and was immediately approached by Estes-Stalnos, reported wearing a black mask, black beanie hat and a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, gloves and white sneakers.
Police allege Estes-Stalnos brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim, threatening to kill/shoot him. Police said he made off with the man’s wallet containing $500 in cash, license and credit cards.
Police said they used video surveillance in their investigation and determined Este-
Stalnos had been at the robbery site two days before the incident took place. The arrests of the two men came after a traffic stop by Bellefonte police at 2 a.m. on Saturday. They said they observed items directly related to the robbery.
