State COVID hospitalizations stay up

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday reported 6,917 new COVID-19 cases. The highest one-day amount during the pandemic in the state was 12,884 recorded Dec. 5, 2020.

Hospitalizations across the state totaled 4,404, up 87 from Wednesday, while those in intensive care numbered 923, up 27 from the previous day.

Clinton County reported 19 new cases for a total of 6,289 cases. In Centre County 75 new cases were recorded for a total of 23,664. Lycoming County added 91 new cases for a total of 20,366.

The state Thursday reported 83 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County increased by one to 96.
