State COVID cases update

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday reported 6,122 new COVID-19 cases, the 11th day in a row the case number has remained above 5,000.

3,465 COVID patients are hospitalized in the state, up nine from Thursday and again the highest number since last spring. Those in intensive care on Friday numbered 777, up 13 from Thursday.

Clinton County reported 33 new cases for a total of 5,939. In Centre County 91 new cases were recorded for a total of 22,540. Lycoming County added 97 new cases for a total of 19,154.

The state Friday reported no new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained unchanged at 88.
