State COVID cases stay up


HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Wednesday reported 7,569 new COVID-19 cases, the ninth day in a row the case number has remained above 5,000 and the second highest number of new one-day cases in November.

3,386 COVID patients are hospitalized in the state, up 37 from Tuesday and again the highest number since last spring. Those in intensive care on Wednesday numbered 756, down seven from Tuesday.

Clinton County reported 36 new cases for a total of 5,880. In Centre County 100 new cases were recorded for a total of 22,396, one of the highest one-day totals since mid-September. Lycoming County added 103 new cases for a total of 18,947.

The state Wednesday reported 98 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained at 86.
