State, county COVID case numbers drop again


HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Monday reported 3,254 new COVID-19 cases, the fifth straight day the number has dropped.

Statewide hospitalizations totaled 2,559, up 84 from Sunday. Those in intensive care totaled 591, up 18 from Sunday.

In Clinton County 17 new cases were reported on Monday, a drop of 19 from Sunday and the lowest one-day reading since 14 were recorded on Oct. 26; bringing the total to 5,246. Centre County saw an increase of 24 new cases, to a total of 20,968, while Lycoming County increased by 63 to 17,079.

The state Monday reported 17 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained at 81.
