Police Blotter June 11, 2025: PA State Police – Lamar Barracks
Sobriety Checkpoint
In a recent public information release, Pennsylvania State Troopers from the Lamar Barracks stated that troopers will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint in Clinton County during the upcoming 4th of July holiday period.
Criminal Mischief
ALLISON TOWNSHIP— On June 8, 2025, at 8:12 p.m., PSP Lamar responded to 470 Renovo Road to investigate a report of a damaged security camera. At the scene, troopers learned that Mark Caruso, 73, of Mill Hall, had “swiped” the camera, which was mounted on a wooden support beam, causing it to detach from its mounting bracket and fall to the ground. Caruso was cited for Criminal Mischief through Magisterial District Court 25-3-01.
Harassment w/Physical Contact
ALLISON TOWNSHIP— On June 8, 2025, at 12:35 p.m., PSP Lamar responded to a domestic dispute at 470 Renovo Road. Upon arrival, troopers learned that a verbal altercation ensued, which turned physical when Patrick Nellis, 33, of Mill Hall, pulled a victim’s arm, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain minor injuries to her leg and right arm. Nellis was charged with Harassment through Magisterial District Court 25-3-01.

WAYNE TOWNSHIP— On June 7, 2025, at 10:37 p.m., PSP Lamar was dispatched to Shoemaker Road for a physical altercation that had occurred. Upon arrival, troopers determined that four individuals were involved: a 52-year-old male from McElhattan, a 17-year-old male from Wayne Township, a 46-year-old female from Lock Haven, and a 36-year-old female from Lock Haven. Charges have been filed through Magisterial District Court 25-3-01 in connection with the incident.
Motor Vehicle Crash
GRUGAN TOWNSHIP— On May 26, 2025, Vickie Schmidt, 69, of McElhattan, was traveling east on SR-120 (Renovo Road) in a Buick Encore when she allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. Her vehicle left the roadway, struck a partial root ball and a cliff wall, and became airborne, overturning end over end before coming to a stop on its roof on the right side of the eastbound lane, facing west. Schmidt was wearing a seatbelt, and all airbags were deployed. She sustained moderate injuries and was transported from the scene by Lock Haven EMS Station 22.
Retail Theft/Shoplifting
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP— On April 11, 2025, at 6:34 p.m., PSP Lamar troopers responded to a report of retail theft at Walmart in Mill Hall. Upon arrival, troopers found that Ann Marie McLaughlin, 52, of Lock Haven, had allegedly failed to pay for merchandise valued at $52.94. Charges have been filed through Magisterial District Court 25-3-02.
Commercial Vehicle Crash
GREENE TOWNSHIP—On April 10, 2025, at approximately 12:42 p.m., Jennifer Kaniecki, 42, of Boalsburg, was driving a GM Yukon westbound on I-80 near mile marker 189 when a piece of guardrail being transported by Jessie Perry, 48, of Dubois, in a Freightliner Cascadia, fell from the truck onto the roadway. Kaniecki’s vehicle struck the piece of guardrail that had fallen onto the road, resulting in disabling damage to her vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Criminal Mischief
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP—On April 8, 2025, at approximately 3:47 p.m., PSP Lamar responded to a report of criminal mischief at the intersection of SR-120 (Renovo Road) and Eagleton Road. The incident reportedly occurred in the early morning hours. Upon arrival, troopers observed that a white 2018 Dodge Challenger had been damaged and vandalized. The investigation is ongoing.
Simple Trespassing
LEIDY TOWNSHIP— On March 29, 2025, at 3:28 p.m., PSP Lamar troopers were dispatched to the location of 66 Dings Lane for a report of a male who was trespassing. This investigation is ongoing.

SOUTH RENOVO BOROUGH— On March 27, 2025, PSP Lamar troopers responded to a report of alleged harassment at 155 Clinton Avenue in South Renovo. This investigation is ongoing.
Scattering Rubbish
SOUTH RENOVO BOROUGH— On March 19, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., PSP Lamar Trooper Walker was patrolling the 100 block of Susquehanna Avenue when he observed a blue Chevrolet pickup truck traveling west while hauling a load of brush and rubbish. This area has a steep embankment at the cul-de-sac, where individuals have been observed dumping garbage over the embankment. Trooper Walker noticed several pieces of structural lumber, along with nails and metal trim, mixed in with the brush load in the pickup truck. He then witnessed the driver back the truck up to the guardrail and dispose of the rubbish by throwing it over the embankment. No further information was included in the report of the incident.
Statutory Rape/Sexual Assault
LAMAR TOWNSHIP— On March 18, 2025, at 1:59 p.m., PSP Lamar troopers began investigating an alleged sexual assault involving a minor. This investigation is ongoing.
