COVID case statewide hospitalizations continue increase

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Tuesday reported 5,429 new COVID-19 cases statewide.

The state said there are 2,778 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, the highest number since May 5 and up 65 from Monday. Of those hospitalized 666 are in intensive care units, up 18 from Monday; 356 reported on ventilators, up 15 from the previous day.

In Clinton County 11 new cases were reported on Tuesday, bringing the total to 4,300. Centre County saw an increase of 58 on Tuesday to 19,247, while Lycoming County increased by 72 to 14,234.

75 new deaths were reported by the state, the highest in two weeks; the death count in Clinton County remained at 71.
