Letter to the Editor 9/23

Meant to write about this earlier in the season!

Please note the various places where utility lines cross over the highway! Many are covered with vegetation. That actually makes them look nicer and they do!

BUT, shortly it will be turning colder and the related rainfalls will subsequently be freezing on that vegetation and in some case, adding significant weight to those overhead lines. Most will not be a problem, but a few of the heavier growths could contribute to a problem.

In my 4+ million miles of covering four states I have seen problems result.

Let’s not panic, but let’s ID ahead, some potential problem areas or maybe even “knock down the vegetation” of some of the more significant ones with lots of vegetation.
