Letter to the Editor

Editor:
As voters, we hold the future of our schools and our community in our hands. When we choose school board members, we decide whether our district will move forward together — or be pulled apart by division and control.

Right now, there’s an effort underway to take over the school board and push a specific agenda. But public education doesn’t belong to one group or ideology. It belongs to all of us — the taxpayers, parents, teachers, and community members who believe in giving every child a fair chance to succeed.

Our schools don’t need a takeover. They need a makeover — a renewed focus on students, teachers, and results. We need board members who will listen, collaborate, and plan for the future instead of fighting old battles.

Voters should look for candidates who care more about improving education than about gaining control. We need leaders who put students first, who support teachers, and who use facts, fairness, and common sense to

guide their decisions.
This election isn’t about politics. It’s about priorities. Let’s vote for those who will strengthen our schools, not divide them.

I am a lifelong resident of Clinton County, a 1968 graduate of Bucktail High School, and retired KCSD educator.
