CM girls’ soccer falls to Milton

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Lady Wildcat Soccer team hosted its first home game of the season under the lights Tuesday night against a very strong Milton team. The Lady Panthers ultimately prevailed by a 3-0 score, dropping Central Mountain to 0-2 on the young season.

The Lady Wildcats held strong in the first half only giving up a goal in the later portion of the half. The second half was a battle as both teams went toe to toe but Milton found two goals to put the game away.

Head coach Ryan Veltri said Mia Kopysciansky was a warrior as she led the back line. And he said saw improvement: “A much improved game from the first, the Lady Wildcat soccer team is showing improvement and working hard; the Lady Wildcats had chances as Taylor Campbell and Jaslyn Anderson had goal scoring opportunities.”

“The JV also played their first game and even though they came out on the losing side, they worked very hard and had some chances to tie the game. A hard fought effort playing 9v9, the JV girls were impressive with their willingness to compete and play a possession style game.”

And the coach remained upbeat: “Lots of positives moving forward in the short season, gives us every reason to smile!”

Central Mountain is host Danville Saturday at 11 a.m. at Malinak Stadium.
