The Record sadly notes the passing of longtime Record employee Esther A. Guizar. She passed away unexpectedly last week at the age of 74.

Her death ended a life lived to its fullest for nearly three-quarters of a century. Esther was a remarkable woman who served her family and community in exemplary fashion. Residents of western Clinton County well know the community services she provided, the volunteer work she did.

In terms of the decades of service Esther provided The Record, her employment preceded the current paper ownership and her continued presence was essential to the success of the paper during that transition. Buck O’Reilly and John Lipez, upon entering into ownership more than two decades ago, marveled at what she did; the consummate, meticulous professional who took unending pride in her work.

And Esther could and in fact pretty much did everything for The Record, ending her tenure as the paper editor to devote more of her time to the needs of her late husband Jerry Guizar.

Esther was an outstanding team player, caring and demanding in the most positive way. She was a great role model for her family, her community, for those with whom she worked at The Record.

Esther will be greatly missed. The Record joins with the community in mourning her passing.
