South Renovo selects new mayor

SOUTH RENOVO, PA – The borough of South Renovo has a new mayor. Previous borough council member Matthew Carter was the choice of council at its Tuesday night meeting. Carter replaces Bob Cozzi who recently resigned.

Carter was reported the lone candidate to apply to fill the vacancy. He is employed by Berkshire-Hathaway Energy. He is firefighter with the Citizens Hose Company of South Renovo, a graduate of Bucktail High School and a former police officer in Woodward Township.

Carter was expected to be sworn in this week by District Justice Frank Mills in order to begin his duties.
