Words of Grace – September 25, 2014

“Suffer the little children to come unto me,” Jesus said, “and forbid them not: for of such is the Kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14).

WordsOfGraceWhat do these words mean for us today?

Do everything you can to allow the young boys and girls to come to Jesus, and don’t do anything that would hinder them from coming to him. Bring them to Jesus and then train them up in the way they should go. (Proverbs 22:6)

“Children learn what they live,” as Dorothy Law Nolte has written:

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.

If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.

If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.

If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.

If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.

If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence.

If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.

If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.

If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.

If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.

If a child lives with acceptance, he learns to find love.
