Celebration time at Central Mountain Middle School

MILL HALL, PA – Due to COVID-019, the current eighth grade class at the Central Mountain
Middle School missed out on two end-of-the-school year amusement park visits, Knoebels
Amusement Park in 2020 and Hershey Park this year. But the middle school administration came
up with a back-up for Friday, bringing the fun to the school.

It’s a homegrown carnival during the school day Friday: a better than 100-foot inflatable,
obstacle courses, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, carnival games, a photo booth, and various
other activities for the students. The eighth-graders all received Class of 2025 t-shirts and were
celebrated throughout the day.

Mike Nines, middle school eighth grade class advisor, said the students have been through a lot
and Friday was the first large scale event since the advent of the pandemic more than a year ago.
“These students (like all students) need to be recognized and deserve to have a day to themselves
before they enter high school.”
