Leadership Clinton County Accepting Applications

LCC Class of 2021 tours Pine Creek Lumber in Mill Hall to learn the process of lumbering and how they work hard to promote healthy, prolific forests in PA by supporting Best Management Practices in all forest harvests.

LOCK HAVEN – Leadership Clinton County is accepting applications until July 1st for its innovative leadership training program.

Hosted by the Clinton County Economic Partnership, Leadership Clinton County is designed to strengthen its participants by helping them recognize their leadership potential and identify ways they may use their abilities to create a better future for their community.

Through a series of sessions, and using the community as its classroom, participants exchange ideas and information with established leaders and experts from many fields. Future leaders gain first-hand experience about critical issues as they develop the skills necessary to become an effective leader.

Many people want to improve their community/work environment in some way but are unaware of their capacity to make a positive impact or how they may be most effective. Leadership Clinton County will provide the opportunities for individuals to develop a network with other leaders to help them in their current and future roles. Participants will explore various issues, institutions and leadership styles. They will develop the skills and knowledge to become leaders in a way that fits with their own interests and personalities.

Leadership Clinton County has a lot of benefits for employers: it develops employees with increased organizational, leadership and problem solving skills; gives companies and employees new insights into the community; strengthens a company’s involvement and participation in community affairs; gives companies new access to a network of community leaders and resources; gives companies public recognition of their community involvement; and expedites high potential employee development.

For the community overall, Leadership Clinton County: develops a committed, knowledgeable group of people prepared to accept key positions on community committees and boards; provides a broad-based pool of individuals sensitive to the diverse populations in our community; instills a greater appreciation of the issues facing our community today and the emerging issues of tomorrow; and encourages creative partnerships and initiatives between the public and private sectors.

This 9-month comprehensive leadership development program is designed for any adult living or working in Clinton County. Sessions typically run once a month from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Leadership Clinton County tuition is $600 per person, which covers materials, lodging when needed, and all meals. Partial scholarships are available for those in need.
