Bucktail softball staggers NRA, 18-7

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Bucktail Lady Bucks were back in action for the first time this week on Wednesday and showed no ill effects from the layoff as they pounded out 17 hits in an 18-7, 6-inning win over Neumann Regional Academy.

With the win Bucktail moved to 10-4 and set up an important home game Friday with Muncy (10-3). Neumann dropped to 1-11 with the loss.

Coach Mike Poorman was able to rest his two frontline pitchers, Emma Poorman and Makenzie Wagner; Jordan Burrows and Lily Francis stepped in to share the duties in the circle. They combined for a 2-hitter but did surrender 18 walks between them.

At the plate Bucktail cruised. Wagner led the way with a single, a triple and a homerun and five runs driven in. Haley Burrows had three singles. In with two hits each were Julie Green, RaiLeigh Isaacs, Alexis Lowery and Kayla Probert, Isaacs with a double. Poorman had a triple and Jordan Burrows a double, Francis with a single.
