Montgomery, Persing down Lady Bucks, 10-0

MONTGOMERY, PA  – Montgomery pitcher Faith Persing did it again, a dominating performance in a dominating year for the Raider junior. Tuesday saw her toss a six inning, 3-hitter as Montgomery downed Bucktail by a 10-0 score.

Persing has been virtually untouchable all year; in fact, the only two runs she has surrendered so far this season came on April 27 when she threw a 2-hitter at Farwell as Montgomery won that game by a 5-2 score.

The Tuesday game at Montgomery stayed close through three innings, the home team with a 3-0 lead. But the Raiders added six in the fourth and closed the game out with one in the bottom of the sixth for the 10-0 win. Persing struck out 12 and issued no walks.

Bucktail got singles from Jordan Burrows, Haley Burrows and Alexis Lowery. Makenzie Wagner and Emma Poorman split the pitching duties for Bucktail. Montgomery ended with eight hits and picked up a total of 10 walks.

Bucktail is now 8-4 and is scheduled to visit Benton (0-10) on Wednesday, followed by a home game Thursday with Sugar Valley Rural Charter School (1-8). Montgomery is now 11-0.
