Lady Bucks with 15 hits in 15-4 win at CMVT

BLOOMSBURG, PA – It took a couple innings to get untracked, but once they did, the Bucktail softball team surged to a 15-4, 5-inning road win over Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech on Friday.

The Lady Bucks pounded out 15 hits, everyone in the lineup contributing at least one. Among the hits were six for extra bases, including homeruns from Lily Francis and Makenzie Wagner. Doubles came from Emma Poorman, Julie Green, Kayla Probert and RaiLeigh Isaacs. Both Burrows girls, Jordan and Haley, had two singles, as did Dakota Werts. Green, Francis, Isaacs and Werts all finished with two hits.

Poorman and Wagner split the pitching duties, Wagner going the last 3.2 innings to pick up the win; she struck out seven, gave up no hits and one unearned run.

CMVT led 3-1 after two but Bucktail plated 4 in the third, 8 in the fourth and 2 in the fifth. When CMVT failed to score in the bottom of the fifth, the game ended on the 10-run rule.

The win ended a two-game skid and left the Lady Bucks at 8-3 overall, CMVT now 5-9. A major rematch awaits Bucktail on Monday, at Montgomery (10-0). Bucktail will be seeking revenge after the Lady Raiders downed Bucktail this past Tuesday by a 5-2 score.
