Leadership Clinton County learns about business and economic development

Jason Bitner, Vice President & Business Development Officer for Small Business Banking at First National Bank, spoke to the class of Leadership Clinton County on the steps needed to start a small business.

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Participants of Leadership Clinton County recently had the opportunity to learn about the process of economic development by meeting with those who play a huge part in that process. Representatives included Mike Flanagan with the Clinton County Economic Partnership, Betsy Lockwood with SEDA-Council of Governments, Tracie Witter with PPL Electric Utilities, and Dorie Gilmore with PA CareerLink, who all gave an in-depth description of their involvement with economic development in Clinton County. Small business was also covered during the session. The class was given tools on how to start a business from Jason Bitner with First National Bank, spoke with local small business owners, Jeff Miller, Tina Newberry, and Hanna Stover on their experiences of owning a business, and was given an overview of Downtown Lock Haven, Inc., by manager Marie Vilello. Participants also gained a better understanding of the importance of the real estate market from Bob Boob and Sarah Grimes with Century 21 1st Choice Realty.
