RENOVO, PA – Renovo borough council has approved Lock Haven police detective Richard Simpson as the borough’s new part-time police chief. The action came at a council meeting last week.

Simpson is to begin his new duties in Renovo in early March. Renovo police corporal Michael Jeffries will be continuing in his role as the officer in charge, as explained by a council spokesperson. Renovo had lost an officer last year when borough native Victor Foley had resigned to join the police force at Lock Haven University.

The borough has also obtained a 2021 Ford Interceptor as a new department police cruiser, the acquisition made through a grant.
