Primary election primer from county voter registrar

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Clinton County voter registrar Maria Boileau provided updated information on the May 18 municipal primary at Monday’s county commissioner work session. Information dispersed included word that 3,800 letters were mailed last week to those seeking to vote by mail this year.

Boileau said those who voted by mail last year (the first year a blanket by-mail option was available) had indicated they wanted to be included on an annual mail-in application opportunity in future elections; so far, Boileau said, more than 300 such requests have been received back for the May primary.

The voter registrar offered an overview as to what will be on the municipal primary ballot: two county row offices (coroner and treasurer), three state races, four Keystone Central school board seats and multiple municipal contests across the county.

She said a complete list of all the races would be available on Wednesday of this week and packets for candidates would be available on Thursday at her Piper Building office. She said anyone with questions may call her office at 570-748-4019.

Tuesday, Feb. 16 is the first day petitions may be circulated and Tuesday, March 9 is the deadline for filing petitions.
