bucks-footballFARWELL – Ok Bucktail fans, so the game against North Penn was a shutout 74-0. North Penn has been a good program for the last seven years and most of you probably do not realize that students fromMansfield and Liberty schools play on that team. Let’s look at the positive notes on this game and reflect on how hard these players and the coaching staff have worked.

We just lost two key players last week in two key positions. Now coach BruceRansom and staff are teaching on the fly, game by game.  Senior Aaron Ransdorf ran for over 100 yards in the game. Someone had to do some blocking for him? Ransdorf even had a fifty-plus yard run at the end of the game only to be called back to the thirty-five yard line as they claim he stepped out of bounds.

Even though it seems like NP scored on every possession, there surely were some nice stops and hits that the Bucks made on NP. I know a couple of times standing down by the concession stand you could hear the pads hitting and yes they came from the Bucks defense. Players like Kyle Ransdorf, Collin Spencer, Ryan Prebble, Brice Cannon and other players as well.

Remember we have two quarterbacks that haven’t played that position at this level. Senior Blake Gavlock I believe never took a snap in his football career. Junior Kiefer Mason hasn’t taken a snap since his junior high playing days and is playing his first year on varsity. So we have two young players learning the QB position.

It will not be any easier this Friday as the Bucks will host another Northern Tier team from Wellsboro, ranked third in the state according to Pennsylvania Football News. Wellsboro (2-0) is coming off a 31-0 win over Muncy.

After this game, I believe the schedule will be in our favor as the games will be more competitive.
