Lady ‘Cats Fall 3-1 in Home Opener
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain girls’ volleyball held their regular season home opener Monday evening hosting West Branch.
With a new head coach in Megan Coleman and plenty of new faces in the starting lineup, the Lady ‘Cats were eager to play before the home crowd.
The Lady Warriors brought their “A” game with them on the trip east on I-80 and were a formidable foe for Central Mountain.
The Lady Wildcats got off to a shaky start in the first game falling 25-15 to the visitors. In the second game, CM picked up their pace and hung tight with West Branch and were tied 23 all before the Lady Warriors managed a 25-23 win.
In the third game Central Mountain kept up their determination, never giving up in the process. Tied at 17-all, 23-all and then 24-all … the lady ‘Cats were rewarded for their persistence with a 26-24 victory, forcing game four.
Though Central Mountain played well in game four, West Branch kept up the pressure and finished off the contest with a 25-19 score and a 3-1 match win.
