Clinton County Libraries Adjusting Services Due to COVID-19
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Annie Halenbake Ross Library in Lock Haven, Friendship Community Library in Beech Creek and Renovo Area Library in Renovo will begin offering Library-To-Go lobby pickup services in addition to appointment browsing of the stacks starting Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Due to the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases in Clinton County, and the expected spike post-Thanksgiving Holiday, the Board of Trustees and Executive Director of the Clinton County Libraries have made the difficult decision to temporarily adjust library services.
The libraries will be open for appointment-only browsing/computer use and lobby pickup (Library-To-Go) service beginning Dec. 1. Programs will also be moved entirely online during this time.
Appointments to browse the library’s stacks or to use the computers can be made by calling each library:
Annie Halenbake Ross Library – 570-748-3321
Renovo Area Library – 570-923-0390
Friendship Community Library – 570-962-2048
Appointment browsing sessions are limited to 15 minutes to allow as many people to browse as possible. Computer appointments are likewise limited to 15 minutes per hour.
To use the lobby pickup Library-To-Go service, please call the library you wish to use for pickup, and provide one of the following:
The titles and authors for the materials if you would like to obtain specific items for pickup, or,
A genre or author that you would like to obtain a grab bag of five items (2 bag limit) chosen for you by the staff.
Materials can then be picked up in the lobby at Ross Library, at the door at Friendship Community Library, and at the front desk at Renovo Area Library.
At-risk patrons are encouraged to use the libraries’ Books By Mail program.
To browse the library’s catalog for titles, visit bookshelf.rosslibrary.org. To submit an online form containing titles or genres, visit www.rosslibrary.org. Other information will also be available at this web address, including access to online programming.
Wireless printing will be available in the lobby at Annie Halenbake Ross Library. Directions for how to print from your laptop or mobile device, please speak to the staff member stationed in the lobby.
For kids: when visiting the Children’s Department, remember to take home an activity care package. These care packages can also be included in Library-To-Go pickup packages.
Did you know your library is open 24/7? Wireless Internet is available outside of all three library buildings. Databases, eBooks (for adults and children), eAudiobooks and a language learning app are also available at all times via the libraries’ website. Reference questions can be submitted by calling 570-748-3321 or by emailing ross1@rosslibrary.org.
Appropriate face coverings are required in the libraries at all times. If a patron cannot wear a face covering, alternate services will be provided outside of the library. Social distancing of six feet will be enforced inside the libraries.
The libraries look forward to serving Clinton County in the safest way possible. Thank you for your understanding. Questions and concerns can be addressed to Executive Director Tammy Garrison at 570-748-3321 or ross1@rosslibrary.org.
