Bulldogs Move to PIAA Semifinals; Next Friday at Lampeter-Strasburg

MOUNTAIN TOP, PA – The Jersey Shore Bulldogs scrapped and battled their way to a 26-14 win over Crestwood Friday night in the PIAA Class 4A quarterfinals. The hard-earned win over the previously undefeated Comets put the Bulldogs into the state semifinals for the second year in a row.

Jersey Shore will again be on the road next Friday night, Nov. 20, a trip to Lampeter in Lancaster County to take on Lampeter-Strasburg. The Pioneers stayed undefeated with a 20-3 win over Eastern Lebanon (ELCO) in the District 3 4A final on Friday night.

The Bulldogs, now 9-0, made the plays when they had to at Crestwood. The home team three times got inside ‘Shore’s 10-yardline in the second half, but came up empty each time. Kooper Peacock came up big for the ‘Dogs with two second half interceptions.

Jersey Shore used its balanced offense in picking up the win. Cam Allison carried 19 times for 68 yards and Hayden Packer rushed seven times for 40 yards. Quarterback Branden Wheary completed 11-of-19 passes for 161 yards; Cayden Hess caught seven for 77 yards.

Lampeter-Strasburg, like Jersey Shore, is no stranger to the state playoffs. Both were state semifinalists a year ago; L-S lost to Thomas Jefferson, 44-2, while the Bulldogs fell to Dallas, 56-28. One of them will be a state finalist this season; Bulldog fans are hoping it will be ‘Shore..
