KCSD Stays Remote through Thanksgiving; Extra-Curriculars on Hold
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Faced with a substantial rise in COVID-19 cases across its service area, the Keystone Central School District announced Friday that district schools will remain with online learning through the Thanksgiving break. That makes Dec. 2 the first date that schools could reopen for classroom instruction. It also means all extra-curricular activities, including athletics, will be postponed.

Throughout this second week of our facility closure, we have been informed of two additional positive cases of COVID-19 among our staff and one among our students. Several others are waiting for test results. Please review the table below for weekly information regarding the COVID-19 Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard which is maintained by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

All three counties are currently registering “substantial” status for COVID-19. Keystone Central has received recommendations from the PA Department of Education and the PA Department of Health to continue with full remote learning because of this data.
Based on these recommendations, we will continue with a full remote model through Wednesday, November 25, 2020. All facilities will remain closed except for essential staff and offices for this time. All co-curricular events will be postponed during the school closure.
Thanksgiving Break is scheduled for Thursday, November 26 – Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Our team will continue to monitor the local data to determine if we can return to school on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. I will keep you informed as new information becomes available.
