Renninger Resigns as Central Mountain Football Coach

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Jim Renninger has stepped down as football coach at Central Mountain High School after five years directing the Wildcat program.

Word of Renninger’s resignation was contained on the agenda at last week’s Keystone Central School Board work session, his departure as coach effective Nov. 3.

A former head coach at Montgomery High School, Renninger had compiled a five-year mark of 10-38 at Central Mountain. His 2020 squad finished at 4-4 and District 6 Class 5A runner-up. That mark, in a COVID-19-shortened season, was the school’s first non-losing record since 2008 when the Wildcats went 6-5 under coach Steve Turchetta. The four wins in 2020 was the program’s most since 2012 when the team went 5-6 under coach Vinnie Kishbaugh.

Renninger was a standout football player at Bald Eagle-Nittany High School and Clarion University.
