Lillian M. Grenninger – Obituary

Lillian M. Grenninger, 95, of Bellefonte Ave., Lock Haven, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Susque-View Home.

She was born in Queens Run on March 14, 1919, the daughter of the late John Henry and Minnie Williamson Herman. After the passing of her parents, Lillian was raised by Ira S. and Sarah C. Helbley of Flemington.

In December of 1936 she married Allan B. Grenninger, who preceded her in death on July 4, 2012.

Lillian was employed by Sylvania in Mill Hall before working for Clinton Paper Company until her retirement.

She was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ.

She enjoyed her flowers and spending time in the garden, crocheting, and bowling in her younger years. Most of all, Lillian loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by five sons, Frederick (Lee Ellen) of State College, James (Jo Ann) of Flemington, Randall (Pamela) of Yeagertown, Timothy (Paula) of Salona, and Dennis (Cynthia) of Castanea; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by a son and daughter, Daniel C. and Rebecca E. Grenninger, who both passed on February 10, 1947; two brothers, Walter O. and Joseph R. Herman; and a sister, Susan Herman.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11am at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will take place privately at Swissdale Cemetery.

A viewing will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 9am until the time of the service.
