Lady Cat’s Cap Season with PHAC Title on Senior Day









BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Lady Wildcat tennis team celebrated Senior Day with a 5-0 win over visiting Shikellamy to clinch another Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference Division 1 championship with a perfect 12-0 conference record.
Carolina Carpenetti, Olivia Anastos, Ella Talbot and Caitlyn Dale were honored for their contributions and leadership to the Lady Wildcat tennis program. All four seniors produced win in the sweep of the Lady Braves.
Carpenetti defeated Shik’s Melanie Minnier, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while at No. 2 singles Anastos dispatched Lady Brave, Kiersten Strohecker, 6-1, 6-4 then Kati Kwiatek took down Shikellamy’s Olivia Weaver, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Talbot and Dale took down the Lady Brave tandem of Kelly Sprenkle and Anne Norris, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles while at No. 3 doubles, Claire Long and Bree Weaver outlasted Lily Weist and Allie Minnier, 5-7, 6-3, 10-8 for the Lady ‘Cat sweep.
The win caps Central Mountain’s regular season at 13-1 overall and they will travel to Altoona on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 for District 6 doubles action.
