Deborah A. Nelen – Obituary
Deborah A. Nelen, 67, of Farwell passed away suddenly at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA on Saturday, September 26, 2020.
She was born on April 18, 1953 in Renovo, PA, daughter of the late Blair W. Paul and Eleanor Dachille Paul Hedgeland.
Deb was a 1971 graduate of Bucktail Area High School. She had worked at the Silk Mill in Lock Haven after high school till its closing and was co-owner of Nelen Monument’s along with her late husband, Ron. She was also a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was married to Ronald Nelen on July 12, 1975 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2013.
Deb is survived by two sons, Edward B. Nelen and Nicholas P. Nelen both of Farwell; three sisters, Catherine Paul of Royersford, PA, Theresa (Clair) Goodling of Farwell, and Diane Paul of Farwell; two stepbrothers, Donald ‘Marty’ Hedgeland of New Freedom, PA, and Randy Hedgeland of Maryland. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepfather, John Hedgeland; and brother-in-law, Dennis Wisneski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Renovo with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating. A fellowship meal will directly follow at the Chapman Township Fire Hall. Maxwell Funeral Home in Renovo has charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church (Window Restoration Fund), Renovo, PA or the Clinton County S.P.C.A. in Lock Haven.
