CM Edged by ‘Sock in Battle of Unbeaten Teams





BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – In a battle of unbeaten teams, Central Mountain suffered it’s first loss of the season in girls’ tennis.
Loyalsock’s Kaitlyn Savidge opened with a 6-1, 6-0 win over CM’s Carolina Carpenetti at No. 1 singles. Olivia Anastos picked up a decisive win over Lady Lancer, Abbie Machmer, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles with Kati Kwiatek defeating ‘Sock’s Mia Blas, 6-3, 6-0 Lady Wildcats leading 2-1 and still in the hunt.
In doubles action it would be much higher competition with both matches going to tie-breaker rounds.
At No. 1 doubles, Loyalsock’s Sarah Hall and Anna Hall got past CM’s Caitlyn Dale and Ella Talbot, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. Then the Lady Lancer duo of Madelyn Hall and Isabella Dadzie prevailed over the Lady ‘Cat’s, Claire Long/Bree Weaver, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 for the 3-2 win.
The loss drops Central Mountain to 6-1 on the season while Loyalsock improves to 6-0.
Next action for the Lady Wildcats is a home match with Williamsport, Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at 4 p.m.
