Farmer’s Market Returns to Downtown Lock Haven Saturday
LOCK HAVEN – It has been nine years since there was a Farmers, Market on the streets of Lock Haven, but it returns this Saturday at 10 a.m. in front of the Main Street Dining Park. The City of Lock Haven invites residents down to the Pedestrian Walkway to check out their selection of produce. The “Market on Main” is focused on providing healthy, raw produce to citizens at an affordable price, and encourages shoppers to enjoy all that Lock Haven has to offer by shopping and dining at local businesses.
“We hope that by providing a Farmers Market, and making it a part of the Downtown Pedestrian Walkway, residents will feel the nostalgia of the days of sidewalk sales. We know that this is something that the community has missed since it went away in 2011, and we are excited for the opportunity to bring it back,” said Director of Community Life, Kasey Campbell.
Market on Main Street will be a credit/debit card only, for the time being, but the city hopes to add SNAP/EBT benefits soon. For the safety and health of workers and shoppers, masks are required at the market. The Market on Main will be available every Saturday until September 26, and the city is encouraging more vendors to participate (raw produce only). Anyone interested in participating as a vendor or volunteer can contact the Director of Community Life, Kasey Campbell, at 570-893-5612.
