John R. Haffley – Obituary

John R. Haffley, 96, of Mill Hall passed away at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2020.

Born in Aaronsburg on November 26, 1923, he was a son of the late William and Kathryn (Stover) Haffley.

John served in the United States Army during World War II.

He shared 67 years of marriage with his wife, Meriam (Stevenson) Haffley, before her passing on September 18, 2008.

John, who was known for his hard work, was employed by Hammermill Paper Company, retiring in 1987.

While he enjoyed gardening, his most loved times were those spent with his family.  He was a true family-man.

Surviving are two children: Barbara (John) Blazina of Mill Hall and Randy Haffley of Scottsdale, Arizona; a sister, Frances Herman of Mobile, Alabama; two grandchildren: Barbi Emel and Ashley Haffley; and two great grandchildren: Shayna Emel and Lilly Gasbarra.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

A Graveside Service with Military Rites will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11 A.M. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
