Statewide COVID-19 Total Jumps to 644
HARRISBURG – The state Health Department reported Monday increases in the number of COVID-19 victims and the number of counties affected.
The new numbers show 644 cases confirmed statewide, compared to 479 on Sunday, an increase of 165 in 24 hours, the biggest jump to date. Cases have now been reported in 34 counties; that number was 33 on Sunday. While Clinton County remains without any reported cases, the number of confirmed cases in Centre County increased from one to three in the new reporting.
Those testing positive are either in isolation at home or in a hospital, according to the health department.
In-all, 6,595 patients have tested negative, the state said. The bulk of the cases remain in southeastern Pennsylvania, Montgomery County with 129, Philadelphia with 128.
