LH Sons Presents Checks to Community Service Providers

LOCK HAVEN – Monday night was a night of giving for the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Lock Haven Lodge 146, providing checks for multiple area service organizations, part of $121,357 presented to 110 non-profits in the past year.

Lodge President Dan Vilello told the assemblage, “Thank you for your efforts in the community; keep up the good work and we’ll do what we can for you to meet your goals.”

Several dozen of the organizations were represented at the check presentation event and many spoke briefly, describing their work and thanking the Sons. They later gathered for a group picture with officers from Giosue Carducci Lodge #146.

Recipients included six Little League baseball or softball organizations. Vilello noted that the Lock Haven Sons is believed the oldest continuing Little League team sponsor in the world, dating to 1947. Also receiving contributions were 15 area fire companies.
