Four Lady Bucks Receive All-State Accolades
FARWELL – Four members of the 2019 District 4 Champion Bucktail softball team received Class A all-state honors from the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association.
Freshman, Emma Poorman received first team honors as a utility player. Poorman had a 3.65 ERA in the circle for Bucktail with 11 wins, 91 strikeouts and a .936 fielding percentage in her first season of varsity experience. At the plate, Poorman was also very solid, hitting .533 for 32 hits, 55 RBI that included 5 doubles, 1 triple and 5 homers.
Emily Cross received the nod as first team shortstop with a .919 fielding percentage in her junior season with the Lady Bucks. Cross also hit .552 with 37 hits, 28 RBI for 10 doubles, 3 triples and a home run.
Jordan Burrows picked up second team honors for her work as a catcher in her freshman season at Bucktail, earning a .958 fielding percentage. Burrows also hit well for Bucktail with a .446 average for 33 hits that included 2 doubles and a triple in the 2019 season.
Myka Poorman was honored as second team third baseman for her hard work in her junior season with Bucktail. Poorman had a .925 fielding percentage and also saw significant time at pitcher as well. Poorman had a 2.70 ERA for a 7-1 record in the circle. Poorman hit .526 when she stepped in to the plate in 2019 for 30 hits, 28 RBI that included 5 doubles, 1 triple and 1 homer.
