Wetzel, Dershem Receive All-State Honors.

Central Mountain center fielder, Morgan Wetzel, left and designated hitter, Autumn Dershem, right received all-state honors for their hard work in their senior season.

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association released it’s All-State team ands players of the year selection on July 1. Two members of the Central Mountain softball squad were included on that list.

Lady Wildcats receiving Class 5 A second team honors were seniors, Morgan Wetzel and Autumn Dershem. Both players were instrumental in the Central Mountain’s run for another District 6/9 title to cap off the 2019 season.

Wetzel was a standout outfielder and solid hitter for Central Mountain for the past four seasons. Wetzel capped off her career with the Lady Wildcats with a stellar performance in her senior season. Wetzel hit .461 this season with 35 hits in 76 at-bats recording 22 RBI and scoring 23 runs. Wetzel had 6 doubles, 1 triple and 3 homers in 2019 and was 5-5 in stolen base attempts.

Dershem made significant contributions over her four season career with the Lady ‘Cats including a solid performance at the plate in her senior season. Dershem hit .431 for the season with 22 hits in 53 plate appearances with 19 RBI that included 4 doubles and a homer. Dershem was also 4-4 in stolen bases in 2019.
