MILL HALL – Friday night’s reveal at the fourth annual Central Mountain Middle School Mini-THON was a revelation. Kids at the school and supporters raised a record $37,466.52 in the school’s fundraiser to assist in the fight against childhood cancer.

The annual reveal was met with cheers upon cheers, the total easily surpassing last year’s mark of $28,359.81.

Students on Friday were engaged for six straight hours during this last day of the event, up until the 8 p.m. final numbers were unveiled. Students participated in non-stop activities while capping off this year’s fundraiser. The Mini-THON fundraiser, modeled after the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), benefit Four Diamonds – an organization whose mission is to defeat childhood cancer. The organization notes it has assisted 100 percent of childhood cancer patients who have been treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
