Central Mountain Middle School Reading Teams Earn First Place Honors
SIDMAN – Central Mountain Middle School students and their coach, Mrs. Christina Onuskanich this week competed in a reading competition at Forest Hills High School against 25 other middle school teams. CMMS brought home two first place finishes and one second place.
Bringing home first place honors with 46 points in the Team C category was the team “The Thirteenth Book.” Members of the team included: 8th graders Talia Cowart, Emma Evey, Lilyan Eyer, Jasmine McCulley, Nova Packer, Julia Schubach, Hanna Tourney, Allison Vonada, Abbey Wolfe; 7th grader Sofia Dressler and 6th grade students, Aidan Meter, Max Verrelli, and Owen Wunder.
The other first place team “The Name of the Team is Secret” competed in the B division and earned 44 points. The team was comprised of 8th grade students Scott Dodson, Jacob Ruskey, Alexander Serafini, 7th grader Dominic Longworth and 6th graders Molly Dubbs, McKenna Gray, Maylynn Hanscom, Emily Karichner, Gabriella Kinley, Rebekkah Merinar, Samantha Neff, and Alexis Plants.
Bringing home a second place was the team “The Mighty Spoons” with 43 points in the A competition. Team members included: 7th grade students; Addison Kelley, Aidan Mulfinger, Keely Rohrbach, Jocelyn Sproat and 6th graders Emily Bechdel, Claire Bowman, Destiny Brennan, Emily Chapman, Gage Laughner, Annabelle McElwain, and Christian Swartwood.
