Porter Announces for Gallagher Township Supervisor
LOCK HAVEN – Kenneth M. Porter of Lock Haven has announced he is seeking the Republican nomination for Gallagher Township Supervisor in the May 21 primary election.
Employed by Glenn O. Hawbaker, Porter has over 20 years’ experience in the bridge and heavy highway industry and more than 15 years’ experience as project manager and estimator. He currently manages the Eastern Bridge Division and is project director of the Structures Division for Glenn O. Hawbaker out of the Montoursville Office.
Porter is a member of two professional organizations, the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) and Associated Pennsylvania Constructors (APC). He is also an NRA member.
He is a graduate of Alfred-Almond High School in Almond, New York and earned a B.S. degree in Geography from Clarion University.
Porter volunteers as an assistant wrestling coach at Central Mountain High School.
He has resided in Gallagher Township on Bear Pen Hollow Road for the past five years. “I wanted to relocate to Pennsylvania since my college days. I love it here. It’s pure, beautiful country, and honest people,” Porter said.
Porter recently organized Gallagher Township residents to successfully oppose a proposed special use ordinance change that would have allowed institutional residences in Woodland Conservation zoning districts.
“My proven track record, communication and management skills, and extensive work experience have provided me with the abilities needed to be an effective and fiscally responsible supervisor. I look forward to working with and for the residents of Gallagher Township. I also believe that a different set of eyes can lead to a different type of success,” Porter said.
