Pigs are crying fowl …

Chickens anyone? Domesticated pig owners are crying fowl, crying they are being discriminated against in Renovo because the borough has an ordinance prohibiting pigs but not one prohibiting chickens. The concern is and rumor has it, not a clue if it’s true, that Renovo may be going to the chickens. Well kind of. Big chickens, tall chickens, in Lingle’s parking lot and nearby. Rumor has it that the chickens are coming from Fourteenth Street. Not sure if the chickens are causing any problems but more than one source has some concerns over the legality of chicken residents.

Smile, you’re on camera …

Smile and say cheese please, as you leave your recyclables at the Renovo recycling location. A camera has been installed there encourage people to keep the area clean and dispose of recyclables properly.

Good job Chapman …

Renovo councilwoman Patty Rauch is praising Chapman Township secretary Beth Whitty and Superintendent George Machak and his son John for donating cold patch and labor to fill in pot holes in Renovo and the labor to fill the pot holes. She also praises and thanks Your Building Center (YBC) in Lock Haven. YBC contributed a matching amount of cold patch material.

PRR meets Thursday …

Roy Darrin reminds all those interested in the preservation, renewal and revitalization of Renovo that the Renovo PRR meeting is Thursday, July 11 at 6 p.m. at Yesterdays. All are welcome.

Camp for women impacted by cancer …

Renovo area women whose lives are or have been impacted by cancer are invited to a free weeklong camp at Yesterdays from July 28 to Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The camp includes meaningful and fun activities such as yoga, Tai Chi, workshops, scrapbooking, meditation, music and more. Rumor has it …

Rumor has it, haven’t checked with mayor for a clue if it’s true, but we’re hearing that Renovo Borough has recently hired two police officers, one full time and one part time.

St. Joseph’s Festival weekend …

The annual St. Joseph’s festival begins Thursday evening, July 10. This year there will be music by Bud & The Dynamics both Friday and Saturday evening. The Dynamics will also be performing this month at Chapman Township’s birthday celebration.

Bobblehead anyone? …

Rumor has it, not a clue if it’s true, that friends of Bud Hallberg, mainly Jim Hedgeland, Matt Linberg and Tim and George, (last names omitted to protect the innocent) are thinking about naming a building in Renovo the Charles J.Hallberg Musical Arts Building. The rumor is the Hedgeland is going to sell Bud Bobbleheads to raise funds to purchase a building.

Ribbon cutting …

County commissioners are expected to announce a date for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new District Court office in Renovo. Work continues to progress on schedule at the building at the corner of Ninth Street and Erie Avenue.

Great cemetery cleanup …

Mary Stephens of Westport reports to us that someone has done an excellent cleanup job clean up in the cemetery in Noyes Twp. She said whoever did the cleanup did a beautiful job and she would love to know who was responsible.

Up there with the best …

Rumor has it that when you travel in Clinton County you are traveling among the best – or rather on some of the best roadways in the state. An official recently Clinton County’s roadways in fact, put us in the top five counties in the state.
