Lock Haven Bypass Improvements Start Monday

$16.9 Million Project Begins

LOCK HAVEN — Monday is the scheduled start date for the Route 220/Lock Haven Bypass improvement project.

According to a PennDOT release, the $16.9 million project will run into 2015 construction season. HRI, Inc. of State College is the contractor.

Work will address approximately 7.5 miles of roadway and will include patching and overlay, along with bridge repairs. Other work will include guide rail updates, shoulder work, strip seal dams and miscellaneous items. Work will stretch from just south of Lock Haven, north for approximately 2.7 miles and will also include a section from McEllhattan to Avis. Ramps at Salona, Mill Hall, Lock Haven, McElhattan, and Avis will see improvements as part of the project.

Drivers will need to be alert for lane restrictions along the roadway as work takes place. Lane restrictions will be in effect around the clock. PennDOT will issue updates work progresses.

The contract will also address improvements on a small section of Route 477 (Long Run Road) near Salona and a small section of Route 2015 (Mill Hall Road) near Mill Hall.
