Little ‘Cats Complete Second Consecutive Undefeated Season
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Central Mountain Junior High wrestling team completed their second consecutive undefeated dual meet season with their 79-12 win over Hollidaysburg on Feb. 13. Not only did the Little Wildcats win every dual meet as they completed a perfect 18-0 record, they did it in style by scoring 90 or more points in 3 matches, 80 or more points in seven dual meets this season and never gave up more than 33 points. The effort also gave CM team titles in the Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference and Big 7 Conference for the 2018-19 Season.
The Little ‘Cats opened up the season in December 2018 by jumping out to a 5-0 run at the Selinsgrove Duals tournament for a commanding first place finish where they recorded wins over Bloomsburg, 90-0; Montgomery, 84-15; Susquenita, 84-12; Selinsgrove, 60-30 and Chambersburg North, 61-24.
Central Mountain followed up their first duals tournament win with another championship in the Dallastown Duals in January where they went 3-0, with wins over Cocalico, 59-23, Emaus, 60-24 and Cumberland Valley, 59-23.
in regular season activity, Central Mountain picked up wins over Selinsgrobe, 54-33; Jersey Shore, 57-17, Bald Eagle Area, 54-30; Milton, 63-28; Shamokin, 93-0; Shikellamy, 84-15; State College, 66-13; Williamsport, 68-17; Bellefonte, 90-15 and Hollidaysburg, 79-12.
The Little Wildcats also picked up team titles in two individual tournaments, Big 7 League Championships and the Shamokin Invitational (32 teams) and placed third at the Bellefonte Invitational (20 teams).
