Rita O’Brien Announces for County Auditor
Rita O’Brien Thursday announced her candidacy for Clinton County County Auditor. Her candidacy announcement:
LOCK HAVEN – Rita O’Brien has announced that she is seeking the Republican nomination for her third term as Clinton County Auditor in the May 21 Primary Election.
O’Brien earned an Associate Degree in Accounting at the Williamsport Community College. She previously worked in the accounting department for Jersey Shore Hospital for 15 years and had served as auditor and secretary-treasurer for Castanea Township for many years.
She is a business graduate of Williamsport Area High School.She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of County Auditors and attends the organization’s annual conferences and classes on auditing procedures.
O’Brien and her late husband, Bill, owned and operated The Haven Bake Shop on Main Street, Lock Haven, for over 21 years. She is the daughter of the late Rose and Wilbur Starr of Linden.
O’Brien is the mother of two sons, Dr. Christopher O’Brien, Dean at Kings College in Wilkes-Barre and Michael O’Brien, Penn State Engineering Department in State College.
She enjoys local history and collects Clinton County milk bottles and memorabilia.
