Cynthia A. Love Announces Candidacy for Prothonotary
Cynthia A. Love Thursday announced her candidacy for Prothonotary. Her announcement:
“SWISSDALE – Cynthia A. Love has announced her candidacy for the office of Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts of Clinton County. She will be seeking the Republican nomination in the May 2019 primary for a four-year-term.
“Cindy, as she is better known to her friends and the community, stated, “Since the time I was a high school senior working in the office of then District Attorney Bernhard Dohrmann I have loved the law, loved the court system, and loved the belief that justice will prevail if under the right circumstances.”
“’I am running for prothonotary so that I can put my managerial experience, organizational and leadership skills to work to benefit all people served by the prothonotary’s office. I have a proven track record of being able to communicate well with people, and working fairly, efficiently, and effectively with my staff and the public. If elected, my goals are to provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service not only to the attorneys and members of the court system, but also to the general public,’” she said.
“An active volunteer in numerous Clinton County organizations, Cindy currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Highland Cemetery Company, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park, and a member of the Boulder Beast Committee.
“She is a graduate of Leadership Clinton County and a member of the Leadership Clinton County Alumni.
“She served on the Board of Directors of the Keystone Central Foundation, was Committee Chairman for the Swissdale Pack 56, Boy Scouts of America, and was a State Officer and Past Worthy Advisor of the Lock Haven Rainbow for Girls and a member of the State Championship Drill Team, the Lockettes.
“She has been a Rotarian for 12 years and is a member of the Downtown Lock Haven Rotary Club. In 2010, as Team Leader of a Rotary Foundation Group Study Exchange, she led a delegation of young business people and professionals to Thailand for a four week cultural and vocational exchange.
“She is a member of the Swissdale United Methodist Church and has served her church as a trustee, treasurer, Sunday School teacher and auditor. She has been a member of the Lock Haven Order of Eastern Star for 45 years and is a Past Worthy Matron of the Rowena Chapter from Lock Haven.
“Cindy has served as an elected Judge of Elections for a total of over 35 years, in Woodward Township since 1994 to the present and previously for Dunnstable Township. She also held the office of auditor for Dunnstable Township and has been a Notary Public in the state of Pennsylvania for over 10 years.
“A 1974 graduate of Lock Haven High School with a degree in business, she attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology where she earned both an Associate Degree in Applied Human Services with High Honors in 1997, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Human Services in 1999, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She has taken courses from the University of Maryland and Capella University towards her Master of Science degree in Management of Nonprofit Organizations.
“Love enhanced her management, organizational, communications, staff supervision abilities, and leadership skills while employed as the Systems Grant Administrator for Penn Highlands Health care, as the Executive Director of the Clinton County Women’s Center, as Assistant Program Director and as a Program Specialist for Community Services Group, Inc.
“She is a certified Fundraising Professional in the state and a licensed consultant through the PA Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) and the Standards for Excellence Institute. As a Grant Writer she has successfully secured grant awards of more than $2,500,000 for her clients.
“A life-long resident of Clinton County, Cindy resides in Swissdale, Woodward Township, with her husband Wayne. Married for 44 years they are the parents of two sons, Troy Love of South Williamsport and Todd Love of Swissdale and are the grandparents of three grandsons, Aiden, Hunter, and Vaughn. Cindy is the daughter of Patty Laubscher Anderson of Swissdale and the late Kenneth Anderson, Sr., originally of Bitumen.”
