PSBCA 2014 Hall of Fame Game
UNIVERSITY PARK – On Thursday June 26, 2014 the Pennsylvania Softball Coaches Association held their annual Hall of Fame Game pitting the top players from District 6 against the best players of District 4.
This year’s contest had the pleasure to held at Beard Field, the home of Penn State University women’s softball.
During pre-game ceremonies one of Central Mountain’s top softball veterans, Taylor Lesser (Class of 2009) was inducted into the District 6 Hall of Fame.
Lesser, a four year starter for the Lady Wildcats, pitched 317 innings with an 1.52 ERA and striking out 299 batters in her career. Offensively, Taylor slugged her way to a .330 batting average with 75 hits, scoring 56 runs and 30 stolen bases.
Continuing her career at Lycoming College, Lesser set several records including a program-record 135 career hits. She is also 13th with a .329 batting average, seventh with 17 doubles, sixth with 54 RBI, fourth with 159 total bases, fourth with 42 walks, fifth with 67 runs scored and second with 133 games played.
Moriah Lindsey (OF), Rachael Shady (P) and Lauren Russell (C) were three Central Mountain District 6 All-Stars who were able to attend and participate in the game.
Lindsey played left field and went 1-for-1 in the batters box and playing solid defense.
The battery of Shady and Russell worked a solid 3 innings holding District 4 at bay.
The game was a 10-inning showcase event as to allow all the players ample time to share their skills, though, in the end, District 6 prevailed 6-4.
