Christensen Declares for Clinton County Commissioner
McELHATTAN – Wayne Township resident Mitch Christensen will be entering the race for Clinton County Commissioner. His formal announcement:
“Mitch Christensen has announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for Clinton County Commissioner at the May 21 Primary Election.
“With over 25 years of experience in healthcare and healthcare management, Christensen is uniquely qualified to serve Clinton County in a leadership role. A 2008 graduate of Leadership Clinton County, Christensen has volunteered his service on several local boards including; The Lock Haven YMCA Board for five years, where he spent three years as Board President, three years on the Wayne Township Planning Commission and two years on the Clinton County Economic Development Board.
“Christensen, a United States Army veteran, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Penn State University and has served as a College of Health and Human Development mentor for Penn State students entering the field. He earned a Master of Health Administration degree from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania and was inducted into the Gannon University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017 for his years of dedicated service to Gannon University Athletics.
“An avid athlete and retired member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Christensen, coaches the Lady Cats 7th and 8th grade travel basketball team, is on staff with the Central Mountain Girls basketball program and is the head coach of the Central Mountain Middle School 8th grade girls’ basketball team. Christensen is also a PIAA registered basketball official.
“Mitch and his wife, Tracie, live in McElhattan with their three children; Vincent (18), Mia Frances (15) and Elle (10). On why he is seeking election for Clinton County Commissioner, Christensen says, ‘My family and I moved here twelve years ago to pursue a career opportunity and have enjoyed raising our children in Clinton County. As the children grow older and we find ourselves touring colleges most weekends, we see the value in making sure that Clinton County is a place where our children would like to stay and raise families of their own. It would be a privilege to serve in this role and I believe that my background has prepared me well to help all residents of Clinton County.’”
