Conklin Seeks Second Term as Commissioner
LOCK HAVEN – Clinton County Commissioner Paul Conklin will be seeking re-election this year. His candidacy announcement came on Monday:
“Clinton County Commissioner Paul W Conklin has announced his candidacy seeking the Democratic nomination for a second term in the May 21 primary.
“Conklin serves as Chairman of the Prison board, board member of the Conservation District, and commissioner representative to the Clinton County Sewer Authority, Housing Authority, Housing Coalition, Planning Commission, Re-entry Housing Planning Committee, Chestnut Grove Recreation Authority, Western Clinton County Recreation Authority, Victim Witness Liason, Stop/Sart Program, and Agricultural Preservation. Conklin also is a trustee for the Susque-View Home, serves on the Board of Assessment appeals and a member of the Advocates of a Drug Free Tomorrow and serves on the board of directors for PCoRP, the insurance arm of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.
“Conklin currently serves as the Financial Tournament Director for the PIAA state wrestling tournament and past Regional PIAA Northwest tournament director for 5 years. He is a member of the Lock Haven Kiwanis Club and Sons of Italy Lodge, former Lions Club President and Little League coach and officer for 14 years. He is a former school board director, and chairman of the Castanea Township board of supervisors.
“Conklin has many years of financial management, serving as Chief Financial Officer and Controller for manufacturing and distribution facilities, throughout his life-long career. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology and additional studies at Penn State University.
“Conklin is a lifelong Clinton County resident, living in Castanea Township with his wife Kathie. They have two sons and five grandchildren, all living in Clinton County.”
